Cécilia was born and raised in Paris, immersed in Parisian culture and the traditional French values of sharing with friends and family over food and wine. She moved to the US in 2007, studied acting & musical theater, and pursued a career in the performing arts in her 20s. She later studied linguistics at New York University and Romance languages at Hunter College, and has since made Brooklyn her home. 

After a decade of teaching French as a side hustle (tutoring privately and leading workshops for all ages) while developing digital marketing expertise at various NYC companies, Cécilia launched Hello French with her wife, Criselis Pérez. Since July 2020, this passion project has grown into an engaged community of almost two million Francophiles and French learners.

Today, Hello French has six team members and is dedicated to inspiring the world with its love for all things French. Their mission is to lead a social movement of culture lovers, enriching people’s lives by inviting them to encounter modern French language and culture in a way that is inclusive and impactful.
